ABLE

Started in 1995, the Adventure-Based Learning Experience (ABLE) program reached out to an audience well beyond that of our summer programs. Public and parochial schools, colleges, parishes, clubs and organizations, corporations and state and community agencies are now able to experience first-hand the mission of Camp Stella Maris.

Offering both low and high elements, each program accomplishes various objectives. The low team initiatives are designed to enhance leadership, communication and problem-solving skills, while placing all of these to the test. With countless low team initiative games designed to challenge groups of all levels and abilities, these activities present groups with fun, exciting and creative solutions that require individuals to function not just as a group, but as a team.

High element activities provide you with the opportunity to develop a sense of self-esteem and self-confidence by overcoming fears and personal challenges. Having six distinct high elements allows each participate to experience heights up to 35 feet while always providing the perception of danger without the presence of danger. Several new elements, including Giants Ladder, Swinging Platforms and the expanded zipline all provide just the right amount of challenge.

Our low and high challenge course operates year-round, with most programs occurring at CSM. If you are unable to come to camp, our staff will bring the adventure to you with our onsite programs. We offer half-day (4 hours) and full- day (6 hours) programs, as well as food service and facility rentals for overnight stays.

Our dedicated staff is delighted to work with you to meet the goals of your group. Customize your day by choosing the themes for discussion and life skills to focus on and our instructors will make it happen.
