Day of Caring

Camp Stella Maris couldn't possibly imagine getting ready for our summer camping season without the generous help of hundreds of volunteers. Volunteers from United Way of Greater Rochester's Annual Day of Caring have helped us paint and clean cabins, build miniature golf holes, construct cabin porches, build benches, install bunk railings and build boat docks. Over the years we've hosted groups from Wegmans Food Markets, LeChase Construction Services, LLC, ITT Automotive, Eastman Kodak Company, SUNY Geneseo and more! And our friends from Wegmans' Geneseo store keep us energized and well-fed with delicious food throughout the day.

Special thanks to the hundreds of volunteers who joined us on Wednesday, May 3 for the United Way of Greater Rochester's annual Day of Caring. One hundred seventy-five volunteers from Eastman Kodak Company, Lechase Construction Services, LLC and Xerox spent the entire day at CSM landscaping, cleaning, painting and more. The Camp store has a new roof, the Health Center was expanded and new picnic tables were built thanks to this effort. We would be remiss not to mention the team from the Wegmans Geneseo Store who kept us well fed and hydrated throughout the day! Thanks again to all who made this event possible!We strive to keep CSM's facilities well-maintained and our grounds beautiful and hope you notice the hard work of these volunteers when visiting this summer. Their gift of time and talent is tremendous and we are grateful to be a part of this annual event.
