Dear Summer Camp Applicant:

Thank you for your interest in working at Camp Stella Maris. Stella Maris is a Christian camp and holds to the values of the Christian tradition. We look for individuals with diverse skills necessary to become successful counselors; individuals who will live and grow in a Christian environment - staff who will be open, honest, and forgiving; positive role models for children and fellow staff.

Also, New York State health regulations state that a counselor at an overnight camp be at least 17 years old. Therefore, you must be 17 on or before June 27, 2010, if interested in becoming a COUNSELOR. Anyone who is 16 or older may apply for kitchen. The minimum age to be on maintenance staff is 18.

CSM has personnel policies with regard to curfew, smoking, appearance, etc., which will be strictly enforced. Drinking of alcoholic beverages and possession/use of illegal drugs is forbidden. Please consider these expectations and statements before you complete the application for employment. Please keep in mind that we strongly prefer summer staff members to be available for the entire 9 week period (June 20 through August 20). If everything else is equal, we will select applicants who are available all summer. If you feel you can make a commitment to these and other policies, we look forward to receiving your application.

In February, we will begin contacting qualified candidates to schedule interviews. All interviews will be conducted at Camp Stella Maris on Saturday mornings or weekday evenings. Again, thank you for your interest.

Managerial Training for all Core Staff, mandatory.
June 5-6
"New to CSM Staff" Pre-Camp Orientation (8:30AM, 6/5 to 10AM, 6/6), mandatory.
June 6
CSM Open House - All staff to attend (10AM - 4PM), mandatory.
June 20-26
Pre-Camp Orientation - All staff to attend, mandatory.

Our regular season begins Sunday, June 27 and ends Friday, August 20. Employees are expected to commit through the end of season.
