The Value of Camp

6,895 lives touched this year alone…a best friend made…a fear overcome…a new skill learned…a closer relationship with God…a favorite memory…a greater sense of one's self.

Over 300 children…able to come to Camp because of the Campership Fund…families helped…lives changed…the generosity of those who believe in CSM.

84 summers of fun…leaders created…values enforced…a network of people who understand The Value of Camp

All I Really Need To Know I Learned At Camp

This past summer has taught me the following things about life:

• We should take time each day to talk to God, even if it's with 350 campers screaming "Amen" in unison. It will give you strength as you take on life.
• Children are much more honest about how they feel than adults. They just may not know it yet.
• "Signs Up" is a great invention. If adults could learn it meeting would go much faster.
• There are more stars in the sky above Camp than anywhere else in the world.
• Being outdoors is STILL FUN. We should encourage it 365 days a year.
• No matter how old they are or where they are from, you will learn something new from the next person you meet.
• Mondo knows everything, even if he doesn't know it.

Even with the late fall chill in the air (as I write this it has started sleeting outside) Camp is still alive with activities. We've had ABLE groups most everyday and all sorts of organizations using the facilities on the weekends. We had a great group for Fall Teen Leadership…I hope they all apply to be LIT's next summer. We've had adults as campers too…Women's Peace Weekend and Mommy and Me were great successes.
